We depart from Hazyview, in an air-conditioned closed vehicle, between 13:30 pm during the winter months (April to September) and 14:00 pm during the summer months (October to March).
The transfer to Sabi Sands Game Reserve’s Shaws Gate will take around 50 minutes. We get to enjoy around 30 minutes of game viewing en route to the beautiful Umkumbe Lodge. Along the way, we often see all sorts of wildlife.
Once you arrive at the lodge, there is time for a complimentary tea or coffee.
16h00 – Join lodge guests for a 3-hour sunset safari. The vehicles are generally full and there are NO guarantees of private use.
17h30 – There is a brief stop in the bush for sundowner drinks and snacks. The safari continues by torchlight, as you make your way back to the lodge.
19h00 – Return to Umkumbe Lodge
19h15 – A Boma Buffet Style Dinner awaits (you can expect a casual meal of 2 meats, a variety of veg and salads, homemade bread and pudding, for example)
20h15 to 20h30 – Once the last guest has finished their dinner, we head back to Hazyview for drop-off at the lodge.
A cash bar is available to buy drinks during dinner.
