Private Afternoon Safari

We will collect you from your Hazyview lodge or from Perry’s Bridge Trading Post and Tourism Centre, if you are staying out of town, and then we drive to the Kruger National Park in search of some animals.

Even though most wildlife tends to rest during the intense midday heat, the greatest advantage of an afternoon safari is that our guides will have information about earlier sightings, where they took place and what was seen, so we can try to find the most exciting wildlife for you to experience first-hand. Watering holes are also a popular spot during this time of day as many animals will be looking to cool down and nothing is more pleasing than watching elephants play around in a river.

Our guides will ensure an exciting afternoon Kruger Park safari, filled with facts about the animals and birds in the park, as well as the plant life, for those who share an interest in the lush vegetation and age-old trees. The different kinds of plant-life in the various areas of the Kruger National Park attract different kinds of animals.

The later the day gets and the closer it gets for closing time, the better the chances of sightings become, as the animals become more active as the heat dissipates.

To increase your chances of seeing all the wildlife you hope to see, we recommend booking a morning safari the next day, if you have the time. The morning hours are the best times for game viewing.

Please bring along your sun cream, a hat, sunglasses, comfortable shoes, warm clothing in the winter months and a rain jacket in the summer months. Mineral waters are included on all safaris.

During your afternoon Kruger Park safari, your guide will stop restroom breaks, a refreshing drink or some curio shopping. These stops will be short as we prioritise giving our guests plenty of time in the park.

You will leave the park just before gate closing times and return you to your lodge to relax after a great afternoon.
