This tour is made for travellers who prefer the freedom of driving themselves but still want the excitement and the benefits of a professionally guided, open-vehicle Kruger Park safari. The highlight of this safari is a full day in the park on an open safari vehicle, led by an expert guide who brings the bush to life in a dust-on-your-boots way.

Tucked just outside Hazyview, the town that has become the gateway to the Kruger National Park, Umbhaba Eco Lodge gives travellers refined 4-star retreat surrounded by tranquil scenery. Clients drive themselves to Umbhaba Eco Lodge, situated in Hazyview, a town known for being the Gateway to the Kruger National Park.
After arrival and check-in, there is time to relax at the pool, enjoy the large gardens and water features, and enjoy a drink at the bar before dinner.
Clients will stay in superior rooms, each with its own private balcony which offers some spectacular views.

Mpumalanga means the “Place of the Rising Sun,” is the first province in South Africa to see the sunrise and all the best Kruger Park safaris begin before sunrise. This is the best part of the day and not knowing what we will see on the game drive, we enter the park through a nearby gate and travel to some of the areas of the park that have become well-known for exceptional wildlife sightings.
Your guide will stop after about 3 hours for breakfast, delicious breakfast packs will be provided by the lodge, after breakfast, we continue the drive.
The Kruger is home to a variety of eco zones, and each one is a habitat for different types of wildlife. During our safari, we visit rivers and watering holes as well as plains and Bushveld regions, all places where wildlife can be seen in abundance. This magnificent park is world famous for its Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Buffalo, and Rhino populations, and on this trip, you have a great chance of seeing them all.
At around noon your guide will stop for lunch at one of the rest camps. Lunch will be on your own account and there will be enough time to do some curio shopping.
We then safari in the direction of the lodge, arriving at around 16:00 pm after a great exciting day in Africa’s leading National Park.
Back at the lodge, there is time to swim and relax before dinner is served.
