Please note
Gravel roads make up more than two-thirds of Namibia’s roads. We suggest renting a 4×4. Since Windhoek, where most rental car companies are located, is 45 kilometers west of Hosea Kutako International Airport, you will need to make arrangements with your rental car company for a transfer from the airport to Windhoek. Alternatively, please contact us and we will arrange for you to rent a car and move. Rates are available upon request.
You will be greeted by a local transfer representative and moved to your lodge after arriving at Hosea Kutako International Airport. You enter the vast and contrasting Namib Desert area as you travel deeper into the south by road. You arrive in the Namib Naukluft Park area in the early afternoon after passing through Mariental, Maltahöhe, and Sesriem.
When you arrive at Hosea Kutako International Airport, a local transfer representative will greet you and transport you to your lodge. You enter the vast and contrasting Namib Desert area as you travel further south by road. In the early afternoon, after passing through Mariental, Maltahöhe, and Sesriem, you arrive at your breathtaking destination in the Namib Naukluft Park area.
On Day 2, you’ll get up really early for coffee/tea before heading into the sand sea of Sossusvlei for your pre-dawn adventure. Today is your chance to scale one of the world’s tallest sand dunes. From here, you’ll return to the Namib Naukluft Park’s entrance, where you’ll explore the breathtaking Sesriem Canyon. If it has rained, there are still pools of cool water at intervals in the canyon for the adventurous among you to crawl down into and explore.
In the late afternoon, return to the cabin.
Day 3’s morning is yours to do as you want. Relax by the pool, at the sunny and shady desk, or on the lush green lawns that surround the deck. On the surrounding plain, there is a diverse range of wildlife to watch as they graze or happily walk to the waterhole to quench their thirst. The resident Rhinos visit the waterhole twice a day to drink and eat the Lucerne bales that are given to them. You’ll go on a Nature Drive in the afternoon to see the abundant and interesting wildlife that manages to survive in these harsh environments before returning to the Lodge to watch a final stunning Namibian sunset.
Dinner in the evening can be followed by a series of wines from the stunning new underground wine cellar (optional, wine not included.)
We Kebi is a San Bushmen word that means invitation in their almost-forgotten language. Discover the desert landscapes of the San people, who for thousands of years roamed the plains and mountains surrounding We Kebi.
Every freestanding en-suite luxury chalet has its own pavilion with a 180-degree uninterrupted view of the surrounding scenery, providing complete solitude, privacy, and tranquility. The chalets are individually furnished, with comfortable, spacious interiors and exquisite, luxurious towelling and bed linen on the big, high-quality beds. The rooms have an air conditioner, a mini bar, and a coffee/tea station, and the bathrooms have a large bathtub or shower, as well as twin basins.
We Kebi’s kitchen serves a diverse menu that includes tender, savory free-range meats, locally grown organic vegetables, and freshly baked bread. Organic pickled olives, made at home, are a delicious addition to any meal.
The main lodge has a fully licensed bar, wine cellar, deck pool with outdoor barbeque area, and a Boma with fire pit. On cold winter nights, the welcoming lounge’s fireplace provides warmth and a beautifully cozy atmosphere. The infrastructure around We Kebi has been designed to work in harmony with the incredibly generous environment; a photovoltaic power plant provides electricity, solar geysers take advantage of the year-round sunlight, mineral water is provided by boreholes, the pool is solar heated, and an environmental management system ensures that the carbon footprint and environmental effects are kept to a minimum.
