The world-renowned Kruger National Park is one of the world’s greatest wilderness areas and famous for it’s magnificent Kruger Park Tours. It is located in Southern African on the eastern border bordering Mozambique to the east and Zimbabwe to the north, the area covers 2 000 000 hectares and is made larger with the private reserves open to the Kruger park on the western border.
There are 3 sections to the Kruger national park, the Northern section is very remote and wild fewer visitors to the Kruger and fewer roads, a true wilderness area with huge areas never visited by people and one can travel huge distances without seeing another vehicle. Kurt Safari offers tours and safaris to the North and the guides are all true wilderness specialist looking for wild animals, not only sightings of lion and leopard, as predators are harder to find in the North because of the vast areas and not being able to use to vehicles, but elephant and buffalo are in abundance.
A Peron needs no less than 4 days in the great north as the distances are large and we travel really slowly along the river beds looking for the wildlife to come drink water in late afternoons.
The best time to safari to the great north is between April and October out of the rain season and during the winter months which are a lot cooler than the summer months.
There are few areas of Africa as wild and remote as this with as few visitors…
The central area of the Kruger National Park is where Kurt Safari offers the most tours and safaris; this area is rife with wildlife, as it is a huge wilderness area and abundant with predators which are easily spotted in the open. There are large savannah areas which attract grass eating species like Buffalo and wilderness and zebra, also Giraffe and waterbuck and these, in turn, attract the great lion numbers. Satara rest camp is the best place to stay and is renowned for the night hyena calls and lions calling in early mornings. One needs a min of 3 days to explore the central area of the Kruger National Park.
