Day Excursion to Windhoek

16h00 pm collection in summer (15h00 in winter) from your overnight Windhoek accommodation, by your English-speaking Driver. This is followed by a short transfer to River Crossing Lodge on the outskirts of Windhoek.

Already as you drive up the low mountain gravel road to the lodge, you may see game such as Baboons, various antelope and giraffe. Walking in through the welcoming high-arched entrance, immediately behind the attractive Bar, the expansive view that awaits you is already visible.

The spacious relaxation areas next to the sunken swimming pool extend around on both sides of the main lodge, with a large wooden deck and outdoor Bar offering a view that extends further than you could possibly have imagined. Here, you can enjoy a late-afternoon cup of freshly brewed hot coffee, or toast to your evening with an ice-cold drink or cocktail. In winter, hot chocolate and coffees laced with something delicious to warm you up are also a real treat.

A leisurely walk almost 360° around the lodge will reveal savannah stretching as far as the eye can see in the north-east, while the nearby rolling mountains to the south open up to reveal parts of Windhoek City clearly visible in the distance between them. On the western horizon, the sun slowly begins to sink and yet another famous sunset is on display.

As night falls, dinner is served. Choose from the set menu comprising a choice of two starters, two main course meat options, a vegetarian main dish, and a choice of two delicious desserts. This can be accompanied by a glass of wine, or the drink of your choice (Set-Menu meal, drinks are not included.)

After dinner the fireplace in the lounge offers a cosy area to relax in, or of course the deck is also a wonderful place from which to observe the stars and Windhoek City Lights. If it is cold outside, warm blankets are provided for your comfort while you stargaze. For those preferring to stay inside, both the dining room and lounge offer extensive views through beautiful large glass windows.

Finally, your Transfer Service returns you to your accommodation in Windhoek after a memorable late afternoon and evening.
