Even though wildlife tends to rest in the midday heat, the advantage of an afternoon safari is that our guides will have information about earlier sightings and where they took place, so we can try to find the most exciting wildlife for you to experience first-hand. Watering holes are also a popular spot during this time as many animals will be looking to cool down and nothing is more pleasing than watching elephants play around in a river.
The later the day gets and the closer it gets for closing time in the Park, the better the chances of sightings become, as the animals become more active as the heat dissipates. It is also better to go on a morning safari the next day, if you get a chance, as this is the best game viewing time. Please bring with sun cream, a hat, sunglasses, comfortable shoes, warm clothing in the winter months and a rain jacket in the summer months. Mineral waters are included on all safaris.

What To Bring
We will leave the lodge at 13:30PM and enter the Kruger National Park through one of the two close gates. Your guide will take you to watering holes and lookout points so guests can encounter some animals. Guests will see more animals near the watering holes as they are cooling off from the hot afternoon sun. The guide will do regular rest stops so guests can have time to stretch their legs.
The tour will conclude before the park closes at around 18:00 – 18-30pm (depending on the season). The guide will drop off the guests at the local lodges and Perry’s Bridge to have a satisfying and memorable ending to a beautiful afternoon safari in the Kruger National Park.
