Umbhaba Eco Lodge Kruger Park Accommodation

Newly renovated and located on the outskirts of the Kruger National Park, Umbhaba Eco Lodge is the ultimate retreat for travellers exploring the wildest part of South Africa. The lodge is only 1 kilometre away from the busy tourist town of Hazyview, where guests can enjoy a night out, shop for souvenirs, or simply stock up on a few necessities, and just a short drive away from Africa’s most famous wildlife conservation area.

The eco lodge is surrounded by gorgeous bush and trees which are indigenous to the Lowveld and the lodge is named after the Umbhaba Tree which is otherwise known as the Lowveld Chestnut.

Forming a part of the lodge’s most eye catching architecture is a series of ponds which have been built all throughout the grounds. The rooms overlook the ponds, which throughout the year attract birds, frogs and insects, whose calming calls remind guests they are in Africa.

The lodge overlooks the Sabie Valley and the mornings and evenings are characterised by the most exquisite sunrises and sunsets.

For guests wanting to take a trip into the Kruger National Park, the Numbi and Phabeni Gates are only a 15 minute drive away. And anyone who doesn’t want to drive themselves into the Park can book a tour with Kurt Safari. Some of our most popular tours at the moment include our Morning Kruger Park safaris, our Afternoon Kruger Park safaris and our Full Day Tours. If you are keen on staying longer, Kurt Safari also offers private or group 3, 4 and 5 day safaris as well as shared group adventures.

After a day spent exploring the Kruger National Park, guests can look forward to settling down on the veranda, enjoying a drink while watching the sunset, before heading to the restaurant for a delicious dinner.

Every moment spent here is one of serenity and utter relaxation.

Our Rooms

Each of our rooms have recently been given a stunning makeover. Comfortable bedding, spacious rooms, and en-suite bathrooms make for the ideal living space for our guests. The rooms have all of the amenities that you could expect and should guests require something, our helpful staff will be more than happy to assist in any way that they can.

We have 35 standard rooms and 8 superior rooms. The standard rooms have Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and an en-suite bathroom. Breakfast is included with each room. Rooms are cleaned on a daily basis by our experienced housecleaning staff.

Our Restaurant

While Hazyview has a range of eateries serving up all sorts of delicious dishes, guests not keen on leaving the lodge can tuck into a scrumptious meal at our restaurant.

Guests can enjoy an open buffet in an open plan, shared dining area. The relaxed atmosphere of the restaurant, which caters to breakfast and dinner, is the perfect place to mingle with other guests and share stories from your trip into the Kruger. Lunch is available on request.

Our menus change on a regular basis, with our chef taking inspiration from African cuisine, while also serving up those international favourites.

Group bookings for those staying between 2 to 3 nights can make use of the communal, outdoor boma for their evening meals.
