Spotted Sandveld Lizard [Nucras intertexta]
Appearance
It is a large lizard, It is common for the lizard to have spots on its back with an orange-brown tail. Its back can be brown-reddish to light brown color with pale spots that may look like it has black outlines.
Diet
They eat scorpions, spiders and sometime other lizards.
Distribution
You can find the spotted sandveld lizard in the north of Kwa-Zulu Natal, southern Mozambique, they can also be found through the Kalahari district and in the Kaokoveld in the north of Namibia.
Breeding
The females lay 2-8 eggs in the beginning of the year. The babies average about 60cm on birth.
