The Caribbean, African and Pacific Islands Receive well needed Boost

Natural areas in the Caribbean, Africa and the Pacific that are known to be threatened are planned to benefit from a special partnership between the IUCN (International Union of Conservation of Nature, The GIZ (German Development Cooperation and the European Commission.

BIOPAMA or The Biodiversity and Protected Areas Management Program is an Initiative that includes the Pacific State Islands, Caribbean and Africa and is funded by the European Union and the EDF (European Development Fund). BIOPAMA is an effort that is funded by about 20 Million Euros to develop the Size of the environment to increase Biodiversity Conservation.

The Caribbean, African and Pacific Countries are all home to a large and rich variety of people, fauna and flora and a total of 2.2 million square Kilometers of community and state land. These countries are home to 11 of 25 of the world’s diversity spots and is also home to at least 220 different groups. Unfortunately, the sustainable use and protection of the amazing and lively regions is under threat due to the lack of decent information and the capacity to effectively plan and manage.
