Bakubung Bush Lodge is a family-friendly safari retreat in the Pilanesberg Game Reserve’s south-east region, just a short distance from Sun City Resort. The lodge peers out over a massive waterhole, which is normally home to a resident group of hippos.
In between early morning and afternoon guided tours, there’s enough to keep the entire family entertained at Bakubung. A large pool, flood-lit tennis courts, a children’s playground, basketball courts, an internet café, a gym and spa center, a large kitchen, and a poolside bar are among the lodge’s amenities.
The African-themed spit braai and bush braai that take place at the outside boma on some evenings of the week are a spotlight.
Standard/deluxe quarters, family rooms, and the exclusive luxury suites are all available.

After several hours of enjoying the wildlife reserve, arrive at Bakubung Bush Lodge in the afternoon. Until leaving for a late-afternoon guided tour in the park, have a good breakfast and relax. Travel to the lodge as the sun sets and dine under the stars in the boma.

After a hot drink, get up early for a 3-hour morning guided tour in an open safari vehicle with a qualified guide in the Pilanesberg Game Reserve. Head to the lodge for breakfast and maintain yourself entertained with all of Bakubung’s events. You may join a guided brush stroll or a wildlife monitoring activity for an extra fee, or visit the reserve’s wildlife sanctuary or Predator’s World.
Get up at dawn for hot drinks before heading to the Pilanesberg Game Reserve for a 3-hour sunrise guided tour. Return for a filling meal, then pack your bags and leave for your next stop.
