- Get off the main roads!
The road network of the Kruger National Park is intricate and easy to navigate when you have the right map with you. Most guests will stick to the main park roads, and while they will be able to see quite a lot while on these roads, most sightings will end up being a little bit overcrowded. For this reason, and if you want to improve your chances of seeing other animals, you should think about going on a couple of the park’s side roads, which are often gravel and should always be taken slowly.
- Be patient
These days the park has plenty of guests as well as lots of safari vehicles. This can make wildlife sightings a little congested, but if you are patient and if you are willing to wait your turn, you can get a spot at the sight, allowing you to get up close and take loads of amazing photos.

The park’s capital village is almost always overcrowded and if you are not a people person or if you are just not in the mood for people, it is best to avoid the village. There are plenty of other places where you can stretch your legs and get something to eat that aren’t as busy.
