Spanning more than 2,000,000 hectares, the vast Kruger National Park is a magnificent landscape. Kurt Safari was one of the first safari companies to introduce the full-day safari, offering clients the opportunity to explore an expansive portion of the Kruger. This sets us apart from shorter 3-hour safaris confined to the camp vicinity, leading to repetitive routes. Spending a full day in the park gives our clients the chance to see and experience so much more than a shorter trip.

Again, we depart before sunrise and we spend 6 hours on safari. We return to the lodge and from here we transfer back to Johannesburg. (Breakfast Pack Included)

ALLOGGIO
Kurt Safari uses Umbhaba Eco Lodge or the Hazyview Sun, both in Hazyview, for our Kruger accommodation. These privately owned, quality lodges are well-known for their exceptional accommodation and delightful menus. Each room is equipped with modern conveniences, such as air-conditioning and Wi-Fi to ensure a comfortable and connected stay. The lodges are just a 10 km from the Phabeni Gate, providing convenient access to the Kruger’s prime wildlife areas.
All of our Budget Package clients will be accommodated in the Standard Rooms. These rooms have air-conditioning, and Wi-Fi, but they don’t have fridges or DSTV access.

Clients flying out of OR Tambo International Airport on the last day of the trip should please not book their flight earlier than 20:00 pm for Domestic Flights and 21:00 pm for International Flights as one cannot always guarantee on-time arrival at the airport.
*Clients should arrive in Johannesburg the day before their tour starts to avoid missing the shuttle to the Kruger National Park, as this vehicle is not privately owned and cannot be delayed.

Ci recheremo direttamente al lodge di Hazyview e arriveremo tra le 11:30 e le 12:00. Gli ospiti avranno il tempo di rilassarsi, disfare le valigie e gustare un pranzo leggero; c'è anche il tempo di fare una nuotata o una passeggiata intorno al bellissimo lodge o ai suoi sentieri. Alle 16:00 circa si parte per un safari notturno al tramonto nel Parco Nazionale Kruger, prima di tornare al lodge alle 19:30 o alle 20:00 circa per una deliziosa cena e una buona notte di riposo.

All of our safaris start before the sun rises, as the early morning hours are the absolute best time of day for spotting wildlife, especially predators. The guide will choose the best areas of the park to explore on this Kruger park game drive. During this morning’s adventure, we will keep a look out for all sorts of animals, including the Big 5.
Il lodge preparerà i pacchetti per la colazione e, dopo circa 3 ore di guida, la guida si fermerà per la colazione e la pausa bagno, con la possibilità di prendere un caffè. Si prosegue poi con il safari. Il Parco Kruger ospita una varietà di zone ecologiche e ognuna di esse presenta un diverso tipo di fauna selvatica da vedere. Durante il safari, visiteremo fiumi e pozze d'acqua, nonché le vaste pianure aperte e le regioni del Bushveld del parco.
Ci fermiamo poi per il pranzo in un campo di riposo, dove il pasto sarà a carico del cliente. Qui ci sarà tempo per fare un po' di shopping di curiosità o per concedersi una birra fresca! La guida continuerà poi il safari, mentre voi tornerete verso il lodge. Il rientro è previsto tra le 15:30 e le 16:00, con tempo sufficiente per rilassarsi, nuotare e gustare un'ottima cena.

Today’s tour takes you to God’s Window, Bourke’s Luck Potholes, Blyde River Canyon (the world’s 3rd largest canyon), Lisbon Waterfalls, the 3 Rondavels and the town of Graskop.
We start with a delicious hot breakfast at the lodge at 07:00 am and your guide will meet you at 08:00 am in a closed air-conditioned vehicle.
The Panorama Route begins 45 minutes after leaving Hazyview. On our way, the route we take will have us climb almost 1000 meters up into the magnificent Northern Drakensberg Mountain Range. The temperatures up here vary a lot from Hazyview, so bring a jacket as well as comfortable walking shoes, as we do some lovely walks during the day.
We visit God’s Window first, which provides a window lookout point from the escarpment. There is a 1 000 m drop below, and one can see as far as the Kruger and beyond on a clear day. Your comfortable walking shoes will be needed as the various lookout points have paths and trails that you will need to walk in order to get to the view sights. The average person takes around 15-20 minutes to get to the top, and it is worth the walk, as it will take you through the most beautiful natural rainforest environment.
Bourke’s Luck Potholes is next. This is a stunning natural rock formation created by water erosion over hundreds of years. The Bourke’s Luck Potholes are characterised by round carvings and holes of different sizes in the soft red sandstone, formed at the confluence of the Treur River and Blyde River. Your guide will brief you on the history of the region. Guests can use small footbridges to walk over the chasms, looking down at the water as it flows through the cracks and holes. There are also several small but beautiful waterfalls that litter the area. We spend about 1 hour here and walk about 1 km in total.
The Blyde River Canyon, the 3rd largest canyon in the world, is next. The canyon is over 40km long and is as deep as 1 200m in certain places. The canyon contains a vast amount of plant life, with meandering rivers and dams making up the floor of the canyon. At a certain lookout point above the canyon, guests get to see another beauty of the Panorama Route: The 3 Rondavels.
The 3 Rondavels get their name from their appearance which is similar to the Rondavel house, a traditional hut commonly built in Africa. These 3 outcrops stand prominently from the landscape, making them impossible to miss.
The guide will also take you to the Lisbon Waterfalls, a beautiful waterfall that has a strong flow of all throughout the year.
We then stop at the small town of Graskop for lunch and some curio shopping. The town is quite famous for its delicious pancakes and our lunch venue for the day will be the pancake restaurant. There are some great locally owned shops waiting to be explored and guests will have more than enough time to enjoy a stroll through the town.
We arrive back at the lodge at about 16:00 pm after a memorable day. There is time to enjoy a drink, have a cooling swim and then tuck into a hearty dinner at the lodge, before an early start for the last Kruger Park morning safari of the trip.

Today is our last safari and again we depart from the lodge before sunrise. We will have another packed breakfast at one of the rest camps or picnic sites. The guide will focus on trying to find the animals we couldn’t find on the first 2 safaris, and as always we hope to see lion and leopard as they are at their most active in the early mornings. The Kruger National Park has 148 mammal species and over 500 bird species, so lots to see and photograph on each game drive.
After a short breakfast and coffee stop, we will continue with the safari, as we make our way back to the lodge at around 12:00 pm.
Here you can say goodbye to your guide and there is time to freshen up before the journey back to Johannesburg. Clients are collected by the shuttle at around 12:30 pm, and you will return to Johannesburg’s OR Tambo shuttle terminal or a lodge within a 5 km radius of the airport, arriving between 17:00 pm and 18:00 pm
