You will be collected at your lodge between 5:00 am and 5:30 am.

We collect our clients from various lodges within a 5 km radius of Hazyview. Clients coming from further away are welcome to meet the safari vehicle at Perry’s Bridge Trading Post & Tourism Centre, or at Numbi or Phabeni Gates.

We will safari for around 3 hours before our breakfast break. Guides stop at local rest camps and picnic spots for breakfast. Most lodges offer breakfast packs with their accommodation, and you can purchase a coffee or tea at breakfast.

Early morning drives are best for spotting predators, while afternoon game drives are ideal for plains game sightings. Our guides are all qualified and have years’ worth of experience guiding clients through the park. They love nothing more than to share their knowledge with our guests and to make sure that you have the best safari experience possible.

Please bring sun cream, a hat, sunglasses, comfortable shoes, warm clothing in the winter months and a rain jacket in the summer months. Mineral waters are included on all safaris.

Guides are limited to 10 hours a day, including a breakfast and lunch stop, but this is ample time to explore vast areas of the park, your guide will choose the best areas depending on the time of the year and there will be a lunch stop.

For lunch, you can choose from a variety of dishes on the menu at a rest camp cafe or restaurant. Most will cater to all client dietary requirements. There is also a curio shop for some quick shopping before you continue with your safari.

Private Full Day Safari FAQs

How long is the Full Day Private Safari in the Kruger National Park?

The Full Day Private Safari lasts 9 to 10 hours, giving guests a full wildlife experience that includes both early morning predator viewing and rewarding afternoon plains game sightings.

Yes. A full day safari will give you the biggest chance of spotting a wide range of animals, as it covers multiple habitats and different wildlife activity times. Early mornings are great for predators, while the afternoon is ideal for elephants, antelope, and general game.

You should bring sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, comfortable shoes, a warm jacket for winter mornings, and a rain jacket in summer. Many travellers also bring cameras, binoculars, snacks, and plenty of water (although most tours, including ours, provide mineral water).

Most full day safaris do not include meals, but they do stop at rest camps where you can purchase breakfast, lunch, drinks, and snacks. Some travellers bring breakfast packs from their lodges to enjoy during the morning break.

A private full-day Kruger safari with Kurt Safari costs R4 360 per vehicle (1–4 people) or R5 500 per vehicle (5–10 people) when collected in Hazyview. Conservation fees (R602/adult international) are extra. This is one of the most competitive private full-day rates in the Kruger.
