Africa remains one of the best places to see game<\/h2>\n

Africa\u2019 position as a top wildlife tourist destination has remained unchanged over the years. The continent is filled with landscapes and animal sightings that most travellers are dying to see.<\/p>\n

And sadly, as tourism continues to grow in leaps and bounds, we can\u2019t disagree with Forbes when they say that, \u201cThe popularity of African safaris can make some over-crowded reserves seem more like zoos than wildlife refuges.\u201d<\/p>\n

Recently, the influential publication released a list that includes 3 of South Africa\u2019s lesser known wildlife parks among their Top 7 Under The Radar African Safaris list. And we have to agree with their stunning selection.<\/p>\n

Madikwe Game Reserve, the Kgalagadi Transfrontier National Park and the Addo Elephant Park are all true South African gems and what\u2019s more is that they highlight South Africa\u2019s unbelievable natural beauty and diversity. These parks offer some exquisite game viewing opportunities and they have the added advantage of being in malaria free areas.<\/p>\n

The Kgalagadi is one of those once in a lifetime destinations and the scenes you will come across are those that will stay with you forever. It\u2019s location in the Kalahari Desert makes it every photographers dream destination and the colours in the park really come to life as the day progresses. While here, you can expect those picture perfect blood red sunsets and in the evenings you will see more stars than you could imagine the universe has.<\/p>\n

The Addo Elephant Park is not just a sanctuary for the largest land mammals in the world, but the park is also a popular reserve for South African tourists who don\u2019t want to face the crowds. The park is home to the Big 5 as well as all sorts of other animals and the vibrantly green landscape is a nice change from the browns of the Lowveld.<\/p>\n

And then there is the private Madikwe Game Reserve which borders Botswana, in South Africa\u2019s North West Province. It is the 5th<\/sup> largest game park in South Africa and also happens to be one of the lesser known safari destinations, making it perfect for a quiet, private retreat.<\/p>\n
