August in the Kruger National Park is a safari experience to remember, and this month, Instagram has been filled with incredible snapshots capturing all the action and best angles of the park. From heart-stopping wildlife moments to lit-up landscapes, #KrugerNationalPark has been a treat to go through and in celebration of this fascinating place that we just about get to call home, we\u2019re sharing some of our favourite snaps (be sure to click on the images to follow the talented photographers who took them!)<\/p>\n

August in the Kruger Park<\/h2>\n

While Kruger National Park is a year-round destination, August holds particular appeal for a variety of reasons.<\/p>\n

As winter draws to a close, the landscape is parched and vegetation sparse, making it easier to spot wildlife. The dry conditions tend to bring animals out of hiding, giving guests the chance to see all sorts of wildlife, including the popular Big Five.<\/p>\n

The cooler, dry winter months also make for a more comfortable safari experience. With daytime temperatures averaging around 26\u00b0C (79\u00b0F) and cooler mornings and evenings, game drives are a lot more pleasant without the extreme heat of summer. The lack of rainfall also means fewer insects, including mosquitoes, making for a more relaxed and enjoyable visit.<\/p>\n

As August is the tail end of Kruger\u2019s dry season, water sources are scarce, and animals are drawn to the remaining rivers and waterholes. This creates prime conditions for game viewing, with many animals congregating in the same areas, allowing for extraordinary photographic opportunities.<\/p>\n
