nTombo Tree Camp is one of the best places to enjoy a truly authentic Kruger Safari. The camp is located inside the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve that share unfenced borders with the Kruger National Park. The camp and surrounding area is rich in wildlife viewing opportunities that guests can easily spotted from the raised chalets of the Camp.
Each of the Camp’s Chalets are built at eye level with the trees, with small balconies allowing guests to experience the beauty of the landscape from a bird’s eye view. The camp is rather small and sleeps a max of 10 people, with guests guaranteed to have a memorable and personalized experience.
nThambo Tree Camp has 5 identical lifted treehouse-style chalets that are built eye level with the trees. Each of the chalets have thatched roofs and a beautiful overlook of the surrounding landscape from the balconies. Each chalet has an en-suite bathroom, mosquito nets, clothing shelves, a safe and a desk.
There are no fences around the camps so caution should be taken when walking from the chalet to the main camp.
One of the best parts of being in the Kruger Park is to go on a 4×4 game drive and nThombo will provide a very memorable Safari experience. The advantage of going on a 4×4 safari than going on a self-drive safari is that guests travel in more appropriate vehicles for the terrain, allowing guests to travel to more difficult terrains, experiencing animals much closer than usual.
All the 4×4 drives are done on open roof Land Cruiser that are perfect for photographers as they have an unobstructed view of their surroundings. The game drives usually start at around 16:00 pm.
Guests will enjoy a refreshing morning bush walk if they prefer a walk instead of a game drive. The bush walks are guided by experienced by wardens who have all had extensive training and know exactly how to handle a dangerous situation. The guides also know how to approach larger animals to give guests a close encounter. Guests will learn all kinds of variable information about vegetation, animals, and the landscape.
Guests who have their own vehicles can do a self drive safari through the Kruger National Park. There is a large variety of mammal, reptile, bird and plant species in the Park, giving guests truly unique and memorable sightings and experiences. Guests can spend the whole day in the Park not having to worry about leaving the park before gates close.
