Day 1: Shared Transfer to Hazyview, Afternoon Safari and Overnight in the Kruger National Park.

(Dinner Included)

Guests staying at lodges or hotels within a 5 km radius of OR Tambo International Airport will be picked up between 6:30 am and 6:45 am. If you are at the OR Tambo International Airport shuttle and bus terminal, collection will occur between 6:45 am and 7:00 am, with our departure set for 7:15 am.

To ensure a smooth pick-up, please confirm your collection point the day before the tour by emailing online@kurtsafari.com. Please note that this is a shared transfer.

We will head straight to a lodge in Hazyview, with an estimated arrival time between 12:00 am and 12:30 pm. Upon arrival, you’ll meet your guide and head off to the Kruger National Park for a 4-night safari. After reaching our rest camp, we’ll have lunch, followed by check-in for your 2-night stay.

Later in the day, we’ll set out on an afternoon safari before returning for dinner and gearing up for the adventures ahead.

Day 2: Morning and Afternoon Open Vehicle Safari Southern Region of the Kruger National Park

(Breakfast & Dinner Included – Lunch at own account)

Our safari begins just before sunrise as we enter the park at dawn. Throughout the day, we’ll stop at a variety of waterholes, scenic lookout points, and rivers. Breakfast will be enjoyed at a local rest camp at around 11:00 am, after which the adventure continues. In the early afternoon, we’ll return to the rest camp, with enough time for a swim or to enjoy some relaxation before lunch. Lunch will be at your own expense at the rest camp.

The afternoon safari departs at approximately 15:00, with each day’s journey focusing on different areas of the park. This increases your chances of encountering wildlife you’ve not seen yet and allows you to enjoy a full, unrushed Kruger experience.

The southern region of the Kruger receives more rainfall than other parts of the park, making it lush and full of rivers and dams. This area is famous for having some of the best opportunities to spot leopards and it is also the prime location for rhino sightings.

Other special wildlife to watch for in the Southern Kruger includes wild dogs and elephants.

Day 3: Full Day Safari to the Central Region of the Kruger National Park

(Breakfast & Dinner Included – Lunch at own account)

Again, our safari begins just before sunrise as we depart from the rest camp, this time heading north toward the central region of the Kruger National Park. This will be a full-day safari, giving you the opportunity to explore a significant portion of the park. After some time driving and looking for wildlife, you’ll arrive at your rest camp, where you’ll stay for the next two nights.

The central part of the park has vastly different vegetation compared to the south, with more open grassy savannah’s. This part of the Kruger is home to large populations of zebras, buffalo, and giraffes, which in turn support a higher concentration of lions.

We will stop for lunch at a designated rest area along the way, and depending on our arrival time, there may be an opportunity for a short afternoon safari before the camp gates close.

Some of the wildlife to watch for in this area includes cheetahs, lions, and buffalo.

Day 4: Morning and Afternoon Open Vehicle Safaris Central Region of the Kruger National Park

(Breakfast & Dinner Included – Lunch at own account)

Our safari begins just before dawn as we enter the park at sunrise, spending the morning exploring various waterholes, lookout points, and rivers. After stopping for breakfast at a nearby rest camp, we will continue the drive, returning to the camp at around 11:00 am for some downtime, which you can spend as you please. Lunch will be at your own expense at the rest camp.

The afternoon safari will kick off at around 15:00, with each day focusing on different areas of the park where possible. This approach helps to improve your chance of unique wildlife sightings while it will also give you new scenery to enjoy and the opportunity to fully experience the beauty of the Kruger.

In the evening, we’ll be going on an exciting night safari with SANParks Rangers, where we’ll be looking out for nocturnal creatures. This is also a prime time for potential lion and leopard sightings.

Day 5: Morning Safari to Hazyview and Transfer to Johannesburg

(Breakfast)

Today, we drive south towards Hazyview, where you’ll catch your transfer back to Johannesburg.

We’ll start early, bringing your luggage along as we enjoy a 4-5 hour safari, giving you another chance to spot wildlife you might have missed during the previous game drives.

The drive to Johannesburg will take approximately 5-6 hours, so we recommend spending the night there.
