Your adventure begins with a relaxed morning pickup from your Cape Town accommodation. With the city skyline well behind you, the road winds along the Atlantic seaboard, taking you to your first stop, Hout Bay, which is a laid-back fishing village built in a scenic cove. Here, you’ll have time to browse the interesting local craft markets or hop aboard an optional seal-watching cruise to visit the bustling Duiker Island, home to Cape fur seals, which you will more than likely find sunning themselves on rocky outcrops.
Next, you’ll enjoy one of the world’s most scenic drives: the iconic Chapman’s Peak Drive. Carved into the cliffs above the ocean, this coastal route will give you the most magnificent views. From there, you’ll venture to the southernmost reaches of the Cape Peninsula—Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope.
With rolling hills blanketed in fynbos, panoramic ocean views, and a chance to spot wildlife like eland, ostriches, baboons, and even Cape mountain zebra, this is where Africa’s wild beauty truly gets its moment to shine.
And no Cape adventure is complete without meeting the locals of Boulders Beach; the delightful African penguins.
With their waddling walk and black-and-white plumage, these gorgeous birds are sure to steal your heart. While viewing them from the boardwalk is included in this trip, you can also opt to enter the protected reserve (for an additional fee) and walk alongside them on the beach as they bask in the sun or dart into the waves.
As the afternoon stretches out, you can take in the sights along the False Bay coastline with a gentle cruise to Muizenberg, a breezy beach town known for its colourful huts and top-notch shore-based shark spotting. It’s the perfect endnote to a relaxed and scenic day.
By evening, you’ll be returned to your Cape Town hotel with your camera full and your soul well-fed from a day spent enjoying South Africa’s great outdoors.
