Golfing Safari's in South Africa

Day 1 - Transfer by mini buss from JHB international Airport to Seringa Lodge, White River, approx. 4 h drive. Relax in the garden and catch up on sleep.

Day 2 - Golf at Nelspruit Golf Club. The golf course is situated on the southern hills of Nelspruit. The undulating terrain and lush manicured fairways provide breath taking holes and a great challenge. The 18 hole, par 71 measures 6063m. Dinner will be served at Seringa Lodge. ( B, D)

Day 3 - Panorama Route sightseeing including, visits to the gold mining town of Pilgrims rest, Gods Window, the Pinnacle. We stop for Lunch at the famous “Harry’s Pancakes” in Graskop. After lunch and some curio shopping in Graskop we continue to Shangana Cultural village where you will take part in a traditional festival. The Chief and his Family host the Evening Festival, where choirs, actors and dancers gather to tell their story. It is a spectacular and a moving experience, which shows the enormous talent of the people from this region. During the show, traditional beer is passed around and great wooden trays with local delicacies are passed around. ( B, L, D )

Day 4 Golf at Sabi River Sun Golf Club, it is a beautiful golf course with its rolling riverside terrain, indigenous trees and local vegetation. Abundant water has played a role in the construction of this course as 13 of the holes have natural water features. One of the most popular attractions on the course is the hippo and crocodiles on the large dam adjacent to the 16th and 17th holes. ( B. D)

Day 5 - Sightseeing through Blyde River Canyon with stops at The Three Rondavels, Bourk Lucks Potholes and some beautiful Waterfalls. Pick- nick lunch will be provided before continuing to Maholoholo Rehabilitation Center for animals and birds. It has become a haven for the rehabilitation and care of abandoned, injured and poisoned wildlife. Wildlife is brought to the center from all corners of South Africa, and once healthy enough are re-introduced into their natural environments. Those creatures which cannot be returned to the wild due to the nature and extent of their injuries are cared for at the center and are used to educate the many people who visit them each year, both from across South Africa and abroad. Another important function of the center is breeding. The Center is a non-profit organization, relying completely on the support of the public. We stay overnight by Orpen gate in the Kruger Park. Day 6 - Very Early Game Drive in Kruger National Park for safari in an open game drive vehicle. Accommodation will be at one of Kruger National Parks Rest camps (B, D)

Day 7 - Early morning safari in the Kruger National Park with 9 holes of golf at Skukuza Golf Club after breakfast. Skukuza golf course is a 9 hole double tee course that lies inside the Kruger National Park. It is rated one of the most enjoyable courses to play. Wild game is free to roam the greens and fairways in this beautiful setting. Golfers have to sign a disclaimer against being eaten, gored or trampled by any of the less friendly inhabitants of the park. Not to worry, in its 30 years history there has never been any incidents, except elephant deciding to redesign the trees on the course. Then an Afternoon game drive for the not so tired ones…. Day 8 - Last day of safari before heading back to Seringa Lodge in the afternoon. (B, D)

Day 9 - Golf at Whiteriver Golf Club, a championship golf course was designed as a nine hole golf course and later revamped as an exciting 18 holer. It provides golfers with ample opportunity to test their skills. The White river meanders through the course creating interesting water features on 9 of the holes. Two of the par fives namely 7th (490m) and 11th (488m) are comparable to Augusta National in their beauty, challenge and abundance of water. The full 18 holes, par 71, cover 6030 m. If the weather permits dinner will be served in a traditional African Boma. (B, D)

Day 10 - After breakfast it’s time to leave the beautiful Lowveld and head south towards Mkuze and Ghost Mountain Inn, a distance of approx. 600km. Dinner will be served at the Inn. (B, L, D)

Day 11 - Continued travels to Zimbali in the coastal town of Ballito, just north of Durban. It’s only a 300km trip along the stunning Indian Ocean. Stops at a Zulu market outside St. Lucia will be made. For the remaining four nights the group will be staying at Zimbali, in a luxurious villa on the golf estate. (B, L)

Day 12 - Golf at Zimbali golf course which was designed by former British and South African PGA champion Tom Weiskopf and offers a combination of technical challenges in a beautiful and relaxing setting. The first 11 holes meander through the coastal grasslands, with the remaining 7 holes set tightly within the indigenous forest around the wetlands. ( B )

Day 13 - Historical Tour of Durban. This is South Africa’s third largest city with a large Indian population. Afternoon will be spent on Shaka marine world where one witness feeding sharks, a dolphin show and much more. Lunch will be enjoyed on a beautiful sea view terrace at one of Shakas top restaurants. Day 14 - Golf At Prince’s Grant Golf club. It’s a spectacular course with magnificent views over the Indian Ocean. Many of the holes, especially those that overlook the sea, have distinct links feeling, while others have parkland characteristics.(B)

Day 15 -  Shopping and Transfer to Durban airport. (B)

  • Transfers will all be in an air-conditioned mini bus and trailer for extra luggage (e.g. golf bags).
  • There will be a tour guide with the group at all times and on the golf courses as well.
  • Accommodation at Seringa Lodge four two night.
  • Three nights accommodation in the Kruger Park.
  • One night at Ghost Mountain Inn.
  • Four nights at Zimbali in a magnificent villa.
  • Most meals included, see (B, L, D) markings.
